Unless you want to work full time, you're not going to get GREAT insurance at a GREAT cost.
If you're 25 and healthy, private insurance WILL cost you $250 a month. You can probably get on the school's policy for a lot less than that, but it won't have as comprehensive coverage as a private policy. |

i just filled out insurance papers for tricare for like the fourth time... (my husbands airforce) and i just noticed that it says 'former spouse' as an option for a dependent. i don't know just what that means, but it looks like something you should look into. your kids, if they're his kids too, will get to stay on his insurance.
if all else fails look into clinics that let you pay on a sliding scale. |

Your ex still should be responsible for covering your child on his insurance. If you need to put him on child support in order to receive it then sobeit. You can ask your ex can he keep you on his insurance while you are attending school. If you are parting ways as friends he may do it. If not then you may have to make other arrangements such as finding low cost insurance in the phone book or on the net. If he can keep the child on his insurance then it shouldnt be too much for you to find a premium under $30 a month for yourself. |

Anything good is going to be an arm and a leg. Check with the local welfare office and see if they have any recommendations about programs you might qualify to help; ask the financial aid office at the local hospital if they know of any offers. |

If you are smart you can have great coverage
between $100 - $200/month or less. To achieve the highest
coverage and the lowest price, combine the
My Simple Card membership (Total Health Option)
with a high deductible and very cheap health insurance
from My eHealthInsurance. If you really want to stay below
$100, you can skip the second part. |

There’s a new company offering low cost individual health plans in Texas for young, reasonably healthy people. You buy into a plan at a super low cost with fixed benefits that will cover the typical activities and preventative care of a healthy person. Then, if something catastrophic happens, you have the option to get additional levels of coverage, even AFTER the event. A healthy 25-year-old male (and under) would pay under $100 a month for basic coverage. Check them out at http://www.precedent.com - Even if you’re not in Texas, my understanding is that they’ll be offering plans in additional states soon. I hope you find what you need! |

Why pay hundreds of dollars for a What If factor when you can get a discount plan and put your own money in a health savings account? That's what insurance companies do, and most of the time they don't cover everything and you're paying thousands of dollars for something you'll only use once or twice a year. It doesn't make sense. Our plan will save you money every year |

Geee, this may seem to blunt, but how about not having an ex husband. Did you get married with the motto til death do us part.
You would not have this problem if you stayed married. Unless he is beating you to the point of death, things can be worked out. You just want to want it to work out. There are to many single moms out there and people wonder why the youth are so messed up psychologically. |
