Starting my own practice (swedish massage). What kind of liability insurance to get?
AMTA (American Massage Therapy Assoc) offers insurance if you join their group. It runs about $235 per year plus a small Chapter fee based on your state. It's very inclusive coverage and more than you will probably need.

If you work from premises you will need a package policy - a Shop Package policy would probably fit the bill. If you are going to be working from home however then you would only need a Public Liability policy. Pick up the Yellow Pages and call a local broker for a quote.

You'll probably need to look two places. A professional liability policy is normally available through a professional organization , such as the AMTA.
You'll also need a package policy of some type which will depend on whether you work from home or lease a space from someone else. If you are responsible for the premises then you will be exposed to people tripping, falling, etc and want to cover yourself in case you get sued, especially for negligence. It sounds like you may qualify for a business owner's policy (BOP) which is available through most insurers.
Don't forget to make sure you're covered by your auto insurance as well. Most personal coverage excludes business use, so if you're planning to drive to clients' houses to perform your service you'll want to add some type of auto coverage too (business rates on auto many times are cheaper than personal rates).
You'll want to contact an insurance broker in your area to find out exactly what is available in your state. Hope this wasn't too overwhelming. A good broker will make finding insurance pretty painless.

now for a sensible answer - you need public liability and professional indemnity insurance. speak to a good commerical insurer they will be able to advise you and may even be able to do your building and contents insurance on the practice.

You can insure against erections but you will quickly lose your no-claims bonus.
