Storm Damage is not classed as an act of God. [tsk] If you have cover for Storm Damage on your policy then your policy will pick up the claim, no matter who's tree it is. *(Unless your neighbour had been grossly negligent with regards to the condition and maintenance of the tree, then it would be difficult for your insurers to recover the costs from your neighbours insurers). |

Unless the tree is deteriorated to a degree that it is likely to fall your insurance will pay. And then you would be better to notify your neighbor in writing that you have this fear.
A healthy tree blown over would be an act of God. |

Not sure about the UK, but in the US, if your neighbor's tree crashed into your house, you make a claim with your homeowner policy, and they, in turn, will go after your neighbor. That way, you get your house fixed and don't have to wait for the neighbor to find the cash to fix the damage. |

At the moment it is your insurance that has to pay, the way they will see it is that it is your house that has the damage and an 'act of God' caused it. However, i think if you notify your insurerers now that you feel that your home is in danger from the tree then it will be up to your insurers to contact your neighbours insurers to get something sorted.
