Allstate is good! Thats who I have. And my rates wont go up if I ever have to file a claim & I get $100 every year I go with out a claim! Its great I love them. Been with them for 5+ yrs & wont ever change :)

all are reputable companies. try combining your home and auto for a discount. depending on where you live i would suggest Erie Insurance. They are based out of PA and I would go to them over any other. They are a company that actually stands behind their clients and was awarded JD Power & Associates highest customer service. Great company!

There are a lot of great companies but which one is best for you depends on think such as where you live, your fire rating, type of home, etc, etc. There's an article at: http://mysite.verizon.net/ressg6c7/article_save_hundreds_of_dollars_on_insurance/ that I read that will show you how to get the best company for the price.
Also there's an insurance consumer site at: http://www.Insuranceeasy.org that provide multiple links to some of the more popular and reliable on line quoting services. Each free services will require you to fill out an on line quote request and then forward that information to agents and companies that do business in your area making it a lot easier to get multiple quotes with the least amount of work.

Um, how about you go to an independent agent in your area and let one agent try ten different companies? Rather than trying to act as the agent yourself, by going to agents that only represent ONE company.
