I live in a mobile home park. Does the land lord have the right to request my insurance policy on my home and how much to put on it ? I feel the amount I carry should be my business it is none of hers to what value my house and belongings are valued at.
Do you have any financial obligation to the landlord? If you are renting the land from her, she may have your house as collateral, which means she can take the house if you don't pay the rent. In that case, she needs to know that you have insurance, because you would certainly have trouble paying the rent if a tornado ripped through there and flattened your house. In that case, your landlord could get the insurance money. Also, the landlord may want you to have liability insurance on the house, since she could be sued if someone got hurt on your property.
I don't know your specific situation, so I could be wrong - just some suggestions. You should talk to her about why she needs insurance info - it could be for one of the reasons stated above.

if you are renting from them they have the right to know you are insured. If you are renting the lot only they are looking to see if you have liability coverage on the policy. If you are renting the home also, they are wanting to know that they are protected in the event of a loss.

Each state has different insurance laws and regulations. Off the top of my hat I would say that your landlord wants to see your policy not to see how much your home and possessions are covered for but during some disaster how much coverage that you have in the event that your home causes damage to other homes in the immediate area. It just began at the Condo Association where I live a couple of years ago. There was a fire in the Bldg. and the owner did not have this insurance on his unit. Someone has to pick up the tab. Its the Association the Association is the tenants responsibility. I believe that this is really a good law. It protects not only you but your neighbors as well. Generally it is not that expensive.

Yes, it's probably written into your rental/lease agreement.

Better check with your state's general laws. There should be a website that is searchable by category (start with tenant/landlord law).
