i am an educated professional with a wife and two kids...$600 a month comes out of my paycheck!!! and my deductibles are so ridiculous i might as well not have health care at all...it is embarrassing that our country cannot do better than this |

It's more than criminal...it's a sin. But you have to remember, these premiums go to the politicians that can do something about it. As long as the politicians remain in the back pocket of the healthcare companies, they won't. |

I agree they are absurd. Mine has gone from $100/mo to $400/mo (and that's not having kids covered on my policy). That's MY share of the costs, too - the company covers some of it. If I wanted the "good" coverage with decent copays and deductibles, I'd have to take out a loan. The "good" coverage plan is $700/mo just for me. Would be almost $1500/mo if I had to have my kids on my plan. |

I agree. It is a problem. It is just going to get worse. Healthcare should also include dental care. Greedy doctors/dentists. Greedy health insurance company execs. Bush can pay for the war in Iraq himself. Do not tax me or GIVE ME FREE HEALTHCARE/DENTAL NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Yes, well, the rise of healthcare EXPENSES are criminal, too!! With health insurance, you get what you pay for. If you want to pay less, consider a high deductible major medical only plan. If you want the little stuff covered, it's going to cost a lot more. |

I agree, but cast the blame toward insane Rx costs and lawsuits that inflate the cost of healthcare. Either way insurance companies still benefit because they have models based on % of gross premiums. So in the healthcare arena the insurance companies benefit on the increase of premiums because 10% of $500 is better than 10% of $400, etc.. Also the insurance companies provide professional liability to the medical professionals, and the same principals apply. Win ---Win...... |
