If you want to be an insurance adviser, you will have to give a written examination in the desired company. when you pass, you will get an exclusive adviser code to do insurance.
If you want to start your own insurance company (However I don't think you are going to do this), you should meet insurance regulatory organization, who provide license to all insurance companies. |

I suspect you are American. In England we have the Chartered Insurance Institute (www.cii.co.uk). They provide all the education and qualifications you need to become a broker or adviser. They provide everything required.
You must have similar in the US.

Third, you need to be prepared for studying, learning, and processing new information daily as the industry constantly changes and it requires continuing education to maintain your licenses with the state you are licensed in. Fourth, do your research on competitive companies in your market to see which company you should approach regarding obtaining an appointment with and they will guide you through the training and licensing process if you make it through the interview and personality stages. |
