What make & model of cars are the cheapest to insure?
Additional Details
I know it doesn't depends on this only but on lots and lots of other factors.
I just want to know what make, models (examples) are usually cheaper.

I would buy a Parker's Guide from your local newsagent - they list typical car groupings for vehicles less than 10 years old (you can get a guide for older vehicles). There are also useful comments about what to watch out for when buying second hand cars - tailored for each. The lower the group the cheaper the premium. (Some Insurers e.g. Chaucer/ Groupama have a different rating system with up to 80 (Eighty) different car groupings.
All things being equal older vehicles are cheaper to insure - the value will probably not matter.
Traditionally L, LS models are a lower group than GL/GLS with Ghia's slightly higher. GT/ GTi *Grand Tourisme* or performance are higher still. This is because of the additional features/ slightly higher values/ theft likelihood. |

The lower the insurance group, the lower the cost of insurance. They start from 1 (Chiquecento (or whatever)) and goto 20 for higher end sports cars (Evo, Porsche etc).
Also, insurance groups vary across different insurers so please bear that in mind.
