I am living in a 7 year old single house. With all those snow melting, water is leaking out from the cracks on basement ground. So the carpets are all wet. Checked the well, it is dry. Most likely it is because the house draining system isn't working properly. I have water damage extension policy with $500 deductible. In this case, can i get insurance comapny to fix the drain system? If not, giving the damange is minor, is it worth to make claim? The guy on the phone told me "we insure damage not cost", what exactly does it mean?
