Re-Unite Ireland 2016! | What Exactly is AAA? |
I know a lot of people who have car insurance with Geico and other companies and yet they also have Triple A.....
Is it insurance, and why do other people get two insurance companies then?
Is it expensive, and if so, is it worth it?
And also, people who have AAA get cheaper tickets for places like Six Flags and Busch Gardens and stuff, why?
I don't know hardly anything about cars and insurance and stuff, so ANY help you can provide is much appreaciated, and thanks ahead of time.

AAA is worth it, just read everything everyone else has said.
The only thing I can think of that hasn't been mentioned; you can also use it to help friends. When you join AAA you are joining, not your car. Basically, two years ago I got a flat and at the point I didn't know how to change a tire. I called a friend of mine to ask for a ride what he wound up doing was calling AAA and saying that he had gotten a flat. Bout an hour later a tow truck showed up and put my spare on. It comes in handy. |

triple A...its like insurance..you pay it each month......and if you car breaks down you call them to tow your car, and it doesnt cost anything. you get a card and you show it and it also helps you get tickets cheaper and such. my dad and mom have it...and it seems to help them |

AAA is a car service that you should have if you drive and can't change a flat or don't want to hike to the gas station if you run dry. It is also helpful if you don't know anything about how an engine runs because they are usually less than an hour away when your car dies or you go off the road.
I know how to put in the gas and the washer fluid but other than that it's all a mystery to me so I have AAA and have used them on several occasions, sometimes late at night.
They have insurance too but I don't use it. |

It stands for American Automobile Association. My dad got it for me when I started driving and I have had it ever since. I couldn't imagine not having it. They do offer insurance, but I only have it for roadside assistance (like unlocking a car door or sending a tow truck).
It gives me such peace of mind. I'm a woman and I go on road trips by myself a lot. It's come in so handy! Ironically, I've never had to use it when I was driving by myself but I have used it a few times on trips with other people driving. I can't remember how much it costs, but you could look on their website or call them. |

AAA is a club. This club has an insurance agency, and a travel agency. One of the things the club does, AS an insurance agency, is "goes to market" each year to ask insurance companies if they would do a discount off their regular rates, based on the size of their "book" - number of policies they write - and the claims experience, as a whole, of their "book".
So you can have AAA, ie, be a paid member of the club, and either get your insurance through their agency, or on your own. It isn't always cheaper to get it through their agency, you have to comparison shop.
Regarding the ticket discounts - it's bulk buying. The AAA office will buy 1,000 tickets at $5 off retail - then turn around and sell them to each of their members.
For one car, last I checked, AAA membership - the club dues - were about $55 a year. I know it varies regionally. To me, it's NOT worth it to spend $55 on club membership, because I don't really do those type of activities to "break even" on my membership charge. |

AAA is many things, the letters stand for
American Automobile Association (AAA) and Includes details on AAA membership benefits, insurance products, travel and automotive services, and member savings.
Mainly its a club where you are treated with respect and provided legendary service. Your purchase a membership, there are different levels to purchase and the benefits are a bit different with each level. For what you receive NO IT IS NOT EXPENSIVE at all. One tow of your car from your local gas station when it breaks down would pay for the year membership alone. With the membership you are provided a number of tows per year. ****you as the member only have to be there and AAA will tow ANY ONES vehicle as long as the member is there. If you lock your keys in your car or run out of gas they are there. Need a battery they are there (you pay for the battery). How convenient and they care.
You show your card and save on thousands of items from prescriptions at walmart to your hotel room. AAA is a road side service center to you, a travel agency where they will map your driving trip for you, along with and road construction and detours, an insurance company for your home, auto, and life. As a member you receive discounts on all of their services for having others they offer.
At AAA you are not just any old customer, you are a member and treated a bit better in all areas of the services they offer as a result. Check out their site, GO TO AAA.COM |
