I was rear-ended in an accident, the driver who crashed into me had insurance to provide a rental car for me. My car was totaled out. So, when or why will I have to give the rental car up?
Additional Details
Insurance Co. wants the title to my totaled-out car. Can't find it & applied for a copy of original title. DMV says I have to have signature of partner who is co-owner and he is in Irak, it has to be notarized. It will take several wks. to send form to him and for it to return. (Can't be faxed)
Of course I am aware that I can't keep rental car indefinitely, however that is the only vehicle of transportation available to me. I was not at fault in the accident. |

His insurance will cover the expenses up to the point that he is covered for after that you will have to pay for the rental and seek reimbursement from the driver directly.

You cannot keep the car indefinitely. |

If the car is totalled, their obligation to provide you with a rental car ends the day you get the payment check in hand. Or the day they get the check to your leinholder.
They will likely NOT pay for the extra two weeks.
You CAN ask if your insurance company would pay for it, if you bought rental coverage. |

I remember your story when you were in the accident and his insurence will pay up to a certain amount and I would contact yours and ask them what you can do and your situation.
Being it was totaled you should receive a check your car from his insurence.If it was a small amount you need to find a differant car and give the rental back so you can move on.
I say call your insurence co.there supposed to be there for you!
