What are the best home based businesses?
looking for an added income to profit from working at home

I don't think that this is the most productive place to find the answer to your question. Too many spammers. Personally, I've been looking for the "holy grail" of home based business for about 20 years now, and I have yet to find it.

Most home based businesses today involve the computer. That makes it sound like it could be really easy, but it's not. You still have to put in a lot of time and energy to make it work. The MOST you are ever likely to earn is $25,000 per year or so, and you probably will only earn a few hundred here or there. A few hit it big and earn six figures, but typically they find an angle that no one else has exploited, or they patent a particular selling strategy, or....they create a system for selling "sell-at-home" business opportunities on line!

You might want to check out "Worldwide Brands". They are a pretty good group and don't try to get you to believe that it's a cake walk.

http://www.worldwidebrands.com/wwb/cu_index.asp

Here are some things to avoid:

1) MLM - multi-level marketing. By the time you hear about it, it's too late to make any money. Only those at the top make any significant dollars. It's not a scam, it's just not very profitable. The most famous MLM company is Amway.

2) Internet middle men - These are groups that sell "systems": books, stragies, CDs, DVDs, full set up websites, and thousands of catalogues or online sources of deep discounted products. They charge you anywhere from $10 dollars (to sign up) to hundreds of dollars to get fully on board. "Full support!" they tell you, and, boy, to you pay for it. These guys are the sharks of the Internet. Avoid.

3) Don't try to do anything that you don't know anything about. It is amazing how many people think that they can start up a home-based business doing something that they have never done, and about which they have no knowledge.

4) Don't sign up for anything that gets into your email or spam folder.

5) Real estate flipping schemes...especially in the current market.

6) Finally, the old adage, IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT PROBABLY IS.

Good luck...and keep your income earning expectations low.

I work from home with a company of 14 years and members of the BBB. I would be happy to send you more information or discuss it over the phone.

Good luck with any work from home jobs you choose. Be careful there are a lot of scams out there. I know I tried all of them :) No matter what make sure they are apart of the BBB. It protects people like us looking for work.

IGNORE SWEETY

This is a comment from a website he has linked to -

This work at home "opportunity" is an utter crock. Naturally the person spamming it doesn't give the details.

Yes, you get paid to post. How much? About 1/3rd of a penny per post. That's correct, post 300 messages and you might get as much as a dollar if they are "quality" messages.

You do the math.

So why is this goofball recommending it? Because he gets 20% of whatever you make. You slave away for 100 hours to make $10 and he gets $2. He he can talk 1000 people into wasting 100 hours of their life for $10/ea then he makes $2000. How does he con 1000 people into signing up? He spams 100's of messages a day on message boards.

It's a scam, complete and total scam. There is no actual payment schedule, they tell you they aren't under any obligation to pay you anything and most people never make more than $10 after wasting literally 100 hours or more.

You would have to be a curry eating lower caste street urchin from Calcutta to consider this to be a business opportunity.
