First, you have to buy a disability policy, or qualify for SSDI. Then, you have to be disabled according to the coverage definition, AND have a doctor be able to certify you disabled. Then, you file the claim, and submit to an examination by the insurer's doctor to verify your doctor's findings. |

Your question is unclear. Do you mean SS disability or Medicare.
If you mean SS disability your doctor has to proclaim you are disabled and he will write up his papers for you to file with the SS office.
Medicare is not available unless you are retired by SS. |

If you already have a disability - lots of luck.
Private disability insurance will ask medical questions, do a drug test, and a medical exam.
If you have disability insurance and need to file it depends on type of insurance. contact your employer, or insurance company or a lawyer. |
