What can u do when an employer changes an employee's insurance without permission from the employee?
I've been workin here for over 13 yrs...never needed my insurance policy til now. I've found out that it wasn't the policy I signed up for cause I never needed to use it til now.

~~Your HR Dept or manager should have told you and given you the new insurance information. All the policies I've seen required the employees to fill out a form and sign it too, so I don't know how come they didn't do that either. Every state has different laws on employment, the best bet would be to contact your locale Employment Development Department and find out what is required.Good luck!~~

There is no guarantee that your insurance coverage will remain the same year after year, nor is there any requirement that you be told about such changes. However, I'd venture that you get a copy of the insurance plan and policy every time there is a change. Did you bother to read that paperwork ?

Employers can change insurance policies over time and most have done so every year benefits usually are getting less or employees pay more for the same. I find it odd that even though you did not use them you were not informed of changes usually you have to sign up for benefits every year around November.

They don't need your permission. They can stop offering it, switch companies, switch offerings (deductibles, copays, etc..), and pretty much make any change they want EXCEPT to drop you off the plan for no reason (unless they drop the plan altogether and rop everybody).

That's why you also never want to sign up for an association plan because the insurance company can drop the association....just an aside.

Employers can change their policy at any time. They do send you notice and a new policy when they do this. It's your responsibility to read the policy and know what coverages you have. There are employers out there that don't even offer health insurance coverage, be glad you have this option as buying it on your own is extremely expensive and has high deductibles.

What insurance? Health insurance? The employer doesn't need your permission to change the coverage offered.

You can't DO anything... The benefits they provide to all employees are the ones you are entitled to. Pay more attention during open enrollment.
