you can also call your creditors and explain to them it's out of your hands. They have a choice in whether they turn you over to collections or not. I work in a medical office and there are times we've waited years for our money. As long as the people keep us informed as to what's going on (so we know they didn't get the money and blow it), we don't turn people over to collections.

You need an attorney!!! They can stop the bill collectors and will get you all the money you deserve! The insurance company wants to pay you as little as they can and they have attorneys working for them! It will cost you nothing, they take their pay out of your settlement! You are very foolish if you don't get yourself an attorney right away!!
