skydiver | What does bodily injury mean on a auto policy when its said 25/50 25? |
|
|

The first number is the most PER PERSON that the policy will pay out in bodily injury claims, if you're at fault for the accident. The second is the most PER ACCIDENT that the policy will pay out - so if you give $25,000 of damage to each person rear-ending them, and there are four people in the car, the most the policy pays out is $50,000. You pay the rest out of pocket.
The third number is the most PER ACCIDENT that the policy will pay for damage to someone else's property. So if you rear-end a car, and push it into another car, and both cars are totalled, with damages of $40,000, the MOST your policy pays out is $25,000. YOu pay the rest.
BTW, it's VERY inexpensive to raise that property damage limit from 25k to 100k, and I strongly recommend you do so. Might cost you $10 a year. |

Those are really low limits. If you are in a 3 car accident and total 2 nice cars that could easily not be enough. I would recommend minimum of 100/300/100. If you have assets even higher |
|

oh really

If you hurt someone in an accident they will pay up to $25,000 per person, $50,000 per accident. |

or up to $50M per accident, no matter how many people were
injured, the last figure is for property damage |
