No, because I only buy insurance that is necessary for the given time in my life and I shop around for the lowest cost best provider recognizing that we have a competitive market and each carrier charges a different price for the coverage I desire. While the right types of insurance are good financial tools, I must properly prioritize them in my financial plan and recognize that I must trust the Lord to order my steps and provide for me in all situations. This attitude of heart and mind will include situations where I have no financial wherewithal to provide certain types of insurance or obtain them at certain levels of benefit. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind!

It means you're over insured. You pay too much money for some illusion of security. no one should be insured for no more than three years your base salalry. Whos' party are you going to send her to after you're gone anyway? The only reason to have more than you need is if your have a dangerous job and you want a legacy for your kids when you're gone. Even then put it in a blind trust so it will be there when they need it for college.

I love this phrase.

It means, having more insurance than suits your situation. It can be a bunch of things - it can mean, having too much whole life insurance, so that the premiums are so high you can't keep the lights on. Or it can mean, having higher auto insurance limits than you need, if you're judgement proof.

Basically, it means you've been "oversold" by someone who either hasn't see the whole picture of your financial situation, or doens't care.

I just read some of these comments and being someone that just had to assist in the final arrangments of a loved one. You should ALL have insurance of sufficient money set aside for your final arrangements. No one should have to bear the burden of covering your final arrangements. You should love someone other then yourself and take care of this responsibility. If someone is insurance poor, they need to find a way to become insurance adequate and financially unburdened. And by the way, you purchase coverage with you good health, you pay for coverage with you income.
