You need to list a contingent beneficiary - in the event the first one dies. Otherwise your estate may still got to the deceased persons beneficiaries. |

You either change the beneficiary clause, or it goes to the contingent beneficiary, or if you didn't name a contingent, it goes to your estate. |

You should name a primary (first) beneficiary and a contingent one.
A contingent one would get the money in case the first one dies. |

You can name another person as beneficiary if the named beneficiary dies before you.
Also, you can name a secondary beneficiary, who gets the money if the primary beneficiary passes away. |

The assets you bequeath to that person becomes part of his/her estate. It does not revert back to you. That's why you should review your will periodically for changes. Your estate may not be divided as you wished should things change. |

Your will should address that possibility. And, if it happens, you should revise your will.
Life insurance proceeds, however, are paid directly to the named beneficiary on the policy. They are not part of the estate and are not controlled by the will unless the estate IS the insurance beneficiary. |
