If the family can't afford it and they don't have insurance, the state has to do something because it's a health risk to the living to have a dead body out and about. Therefore, they will "dispose" of the body the cheapest way possible, cremation. You will then be able to claim the remains at the morgue - but you may be asked to pay a small fee. |

Yes, they often call it "potters field", but if the body is in the morgue and you don't claim it, they will dispose of the body. BTW, in this day and age, they may end up cremating it since it is less expensive.
Honestly, though, I would recommend cremation and then have a small service in your religious institution - you can do this very reasonably, and the cremation service will let you pay over time. |

Some funeral home let you make payments. But like other stated cremating may be the only options. |

Usually your local municipality will CREMATE you. They won't bury you, but they will cremate you. |

This person deserves a proper burial. Try to get a loan. Most good places will work with you. If there is a friend, family or relative that has a cash value building policy, have them take it from the cash policy. The mother can pay it back as she can or it can be done as a gift. Someone take care of the nephew. Blessings- |

Don't know how that would be handled but cremation is less expensive, and you don't have to have a big funeral. I am sorry for your families loss. |

They are buried by the county. No marker and nameless. Sad but true. I had to experience an incident similar to this one. There are payment plans so you can make installment payments toward the casket, seal, haedstone and plot though. Check with the cemetary. |
