As previously posted, check with your college to see what they offer-but also contact a local independant agent in your area. Since you are young and probably healthy, you may be able to get an individual policy that will cover you for major issues and not cost you alot in terms of premiums. |

When I found out that my parents insurance wouldn't cover me after I turned 21 I got my own insurance when I turned 18 you have to start paying into it when you have a preexisting condition for a year.

As long as you are a full time student in college, most insurance will remain in force until the age of 23, or at least til 21. Medicaid may have to be refiled showing proof that you are still in school. My personal family coverage has covered my dependents up to the age of 21 and in school. |
