What if you don't have your co pay when you go to the er with insurance?
Additional Details Are you sure they will bill me? I have blue cross blue shield for over 1 year but never used it. My card say's $50-100 co pay for ER,but I don't have it now. I really need to go I think I have a spider bite on my head.
~~It varies from place to place. In my area, they will bill you for this amount as long as you are eligible with your insurance when they call to verify.
I really don't think they would refuse medical treatment for $50.~~

Just go. They just ask to see my insurance card and then when they are done I just go. Generally they are that well equipped to take cash from you anyway and are used to billing you. Because if you have a valid medical insurance card it means that you payyour bills anyway.
Never delay going to the ER for something like this merely because of money.

They cannot deny you emergency treatment due to lack of money.

I don't know if they require the co-pay or not. Some hospitals do admit people without funds. I've never tried not to have the co-payu but always used my credit card for this - nice record of expenses. Go to a public hospital.
6. Know your insurance coverage. While emergency departments are federally mandated to care for patients regardless of their ability to pay, be sure to ask about outof-pocket expenses. this is from: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1365/is_/ai_n27006801

they bill u

Go. They will see you anyway and send you a bill. There are laws governing refusing to treat someone and the ER doesn't like dealing with those types of problems, so they treat everyone.
Just curious, spider bite, why not go to your regular doctor or a walk-in clinic instead? Why be online asking and waiting for answers? Go to a walk-in clinic and save your money. You will be shocked what other fees will be left for you to pay from an ER visit even though you have insurance.

First of all, you don't need the EMERGENCY room over a spider bite on your head. The regular doctor will do JUST FINE, looking at it and putting some cortisone cream on it.
Some emergency rooms won't see you until AFTER you pay your copay. Like here, in Houston, where people try stiffing the er's all the time.
But please don't clog up an er for this. IT's NOT an emergency situation. You don't need surgery for this spider bite.
