Flexible premium life insurance usually refers to universal life insurance, by which you can choose the amountof premium you want to pay and if you want the premium to stay the same over the life of the policy or if you want it to change because of some unforseen life event. Universal life is a form of whole life or permament insurance which has two components-the face value (this is the death benefit) and cash value. Level death benefit means what is says-you buy xxx dollars of insurance and the death benefit amount stays the same. Most term and whole life policies are level term. On the other hand there is decreasing death benefit that would be like mortgage life insurance. As the amount of the mortgage goes down so does the death benefit. Keep in mind insurance is controlled by state statutes and can vary between states. |

A premium life insurance plan is also a universal life insurance plan. It enables you to lower the face level as time goes on. It's NOT a good way to save for retirement as some say. It's not a good way to protect yourself for the future. If you're looking to protect for mortgages and family needs, look at Term. If you're looking to supplement your final expenses, look at a small whole life which can grow and cover your final expenses. |

Flexible premium life insurance is Universal Life Insurance. Its a mixture of term and a equity account. you can set it up for 10 , 20 years or a lifetime.
Level death benefit means that the death benefit will stay the same.
If you can afford the whole life insurance get it but if not get the universal. Whole life is better. |

Level death benefit, is the equal benefit throughout the coverage of the life insurance plan.
Flexible varies according to the plan offered, generally increasing by 5% per year, or other percentages depending on the Insurance co. |
