Well, the good news is, most insurance companies doen't credit score 18 year olds, because MOST of them have no credit. The bad news is, at 18, your rates are going to be really, really high anyway.
The best way to keep your rates down, is to NOT buy a new car - buy a car with cash, and if it's more than 6 years old, the collision is MUCH cheaper. But if it's paid for, and you can get away with just liability insurance, that's the cheapest way to insure yourself. |

How about putting the car in an LLC and insure the company car instead of insuring it as an 18 year old's car. My son is having this same issue. Sometimes a creative idea works better. At the same time, you would be a new business owner and could possibly establish and secure some business lines of credit. That would both establish you some personal credit history as well as corporate credit. |

move to province Saskatewan in Canada...credit check not done, cost only depends on vehicle...usual cost around $50 per month...anywhere in the province, SGI is the only insurance provider. system sort of caters to monopoly, but it is owned by the governent, so i guess it is okay? Saskatoon is the best city to move to...and there are job availabilities EVERYWHERE. Very friendly place to live, i'd even help you find your way around, if you decide to come, let me know |

try Cheap Insurance, and your credit report should not make a differernce, its the big companys like Gieco that will take you then audit themselves months later and drop you, so beware of them, try Providian!
or Legacy Pacific, they are the cheapest!
and on the LLC, you may have to pay taxes you dotn want to pay, jsut a thought |

Insurance companies don't do credit checks. Find a a local independent agent (someone that sells motorcycle insurance as well), buy an older car for cash so you won't need collision, get the bare minimum required for your state. |

Cheap car insurance for an 18 year old? HAHA!! Get a 1983 Chevette, put liability only on it, and drive like you were 65 and on your way to church for the next few years. It still won't be cheap, but it will be way better than if you're going to buy a brand new car, or a fast car. |
