I have never had an insurance agent offer me new carriers every six months. In fact, I don't recall ever having an insurance agent offer me a new carrier ever. Unless I specifically requested new quotes, of course.
Your insurance agent's job is to help you with any paperwork or claims issues...not to cater to your every whim. (Again, unless you specifically request quotes or assistance, of course.) |

Her job is not to shop for your insurance. Her job is to provide you professional advice in the way of your policy, coverage limits, and provide customer service, and help you with the claims process.
No successful agent has the time to sit down and run quotes for you every six months for several companies just to save you a few bucks. The bad thing about that is that with these companies you keep switching and going back to (possibly), you'll always be a lower eschelon customer and won't get any "private" discounts or special features that are sometimes given to customers like "persistency credits" --- i.e. "Thanks for being our valued customer for 5 years."
Good luck with that strategy. |

If your premium doesnt go up at the renewal, then you are not the priority on your agents list to shop around for.
I am an insurance agent, and I review ALL renewals to see if there has been a premium increase, to be proactive and keep my customer from leaving.
If the premium has gone up, i try to see if I can do something about it in the current policy, and if not, then see if there are better rates available elsewhere.
If the premium hasnt gone up, its not gonna be a priority of mine to spend that time there, UNLESS, my client calls and asks me too, saying that they will switch if they find a better deal.
Maybe your old agent wasnt as busy as your new one is, and had enough time to do this for you. I wouldnt expect this as a "sure" thing from your insurance agent if I was you, because it does take a lot of time to do this. |

Yep, that's how it works. You'll have to keep shopping around for a new agent every six months.
See, that agent probably makes 5 - 10% of your policy premium. So if you pay $1000 a year, that's $100 a year. Shopping you out, could take 30 minutes to an hour, every six months. Split the difference, times two, you're looking at an hour and a half of work for maybe $75. Less the cost of mailing your policy, operating expenses, etc.
New, hungry agents will happily put that work in, for that money. But established agents, would rather make $500 for that hour and a half of work, working on a larger account. It's more cost effective, for them, to lose the smaller, "high maintenance" customers, and focus on the low maintenance small accounts, or larger accounts.
It would be like you, painting my neighbor's house, for $100. His house is a playhouse for his kid, one room. You can paint playhouses for $100 a pop, or you can paint MY house for $100 a pop. Whose house do you want to concentrate on? His, of course, becaues you'll make more money.
That's why we ALL work.
It's not fair to you, but hey, you will probably have to shop around for a new agent every few years, to keep finding someone willing to spend all the time on your account that you want them to. |

They are just nothing but dumb ***, first you'll have to learn about all the insurance plans, their laws, go to clients and all other things. An insurance agent is like person with no Dignity, feeling. |

Do you think you're her only client?
Why can't you research new companies to switch to?
Have a heart...they all work 100% commission and have alot more to worry about than saving you an extra 50 cents a month....like their mortgage payments and feeding their families... |
