Every insurance company will determine what is their own tolerance for driving records. Even each individual policy may be written to trigger a rate change when a driving incident occurs.
Certainly, simple DMV points are not all that counts. A person with a number of accidents, even if not their fault, may have to pay higher premiums.
A single DUI, against an otherwise clean record may make a person uninsurable, or be cause for exclusion. |

most insurance companies look at your past 3 year history
each company has their own rules and regulations as to what
amount of points that they will accept, some accept more than others
more than one incident in a 3 yr period shows that you lack respect of laws & authority and therefore are a higher risk than someone who obeys all laws |

anything with at less one major violation is bad.....ie..dui, speeding w/ 20mph over limit, reckless driving, failure to stop for an emergency vehicle..........something stupid. |

More than two minor violations (speeding less than 25miles over hte limit, stop sign, red light, that kinda thing), more than one at fault accident, more than four glass losses in the last three years, ANY vehicular homicide, DUI, leaving the scene of the accident, driving while suspended.
