There is no one best company for LTCI. Not every company writes policies in every state. You'll want to visit a local independent agent who can show you the many options available with the many companies. You'll want to get a policy that has the options that you want for the best premium. You want to make sure you're satisfied with the elimination period and you want a policy that will pay for home care as well as institutional care. There is no charge working with an agent. |

There is not necessarily one "best" company, it all depends on the financial rating of the carrier as well as the features and benefits of each individual policy. Meet with an independent broker who can assist you in selecting the best policy. My favorite companies are MetLife, John Hancock, and Genworth. They are all excellent. |

There is no such thing as a best company for anything. Most all insurance companies sell a broad range of products. However, Genworth Financial does specialize in LTC. I'm sure others do also. |

It’s hard to say without more details. Why not talk to an insurance broker? A broker works with several companies and is in position to find the best policy for you. To find a broker, log on to a website like http://www.longtermcarewiz.com/ and fill out a form requesting a free quote. Your information will be sent to a broker in your area who will contact you. It really depends on your individual circumstances and the type of coverage you are looking for. If you are being told that there is a "best" company, you are probably talking with someone who wants a sale more than they want to help you make a good decision.
I will admit that there are 4-5 companies that are on top of their game, but none of them are best in all circumstances. You should work with someone who either specializes in LTC or has an extensive background. |
