No doubt, whomever has your auto insurance. If somehow your auto insurance company doesn't carry renter's insurance, you should give serious consideration to switching over everything to the company that does.
In addition to the discount that would be offered on the auto insurance (in some cases the discount is big enough that the Renter's Insurance doesn't generate any net cost per month), there could be situations in which the Renter's and auto insurance might need to work together. A good case in point would be where your car is broken into and you had quite a bit of personal property in the vehicle.
I would also suggest that you ask your agent for an inventory booklet. Should you ever have a claim, it will make the process tons easier if you have all the information on your personal property. Some companies will even give you an inventory program for free that you can use. Burn a copy and store it somewhere else so that if your home burns down, you still have a copy of it. |

Actually, I'm with everyone else. Get it from the company that provides your auto insurance since the discount you receive on the auto insurance will almost pay the renters insurance in most cases. If your current auto insurer doesn't offer renters insurance then shop around with some local agents to find the best deal.
I would encourage you to use an agent or broker as opposed to the internet. Unless you have a very good understanding of insurance coverages. |
