What is the difference between Medicare and Medical Aid?
Both are government programs to provide health insurance coverage for those who would otherwise have a difficult time getting any.
Medicare is for those on social security (even social security disability.) Medicaid is based on income. It's possible to be covered by both programs if a person on social security has a low enough income to qualify for Medicaid.

I always remember it as:
Medicare - we "care" for the elderly
Medicaid - we "aid" the poor

Medicare is for elderly people and Medicaid is for poor people

MEDICARE IS A NATION-WIDE GOVERNMENT FUNDED MEDICAL COVERAGE FOR THOSE AGE APPROPRIATE(OVER 65) AND ELIGIBLE. THIS IS PAID BY TAXPAYER'S MONEY.
MEDICAL AID IS A GOVERNMENT FUNDED PROGRAM TO AID THOSE ,WHOSE FINANCIAL STANDING IS BELOW THE NATIONAL POVERTY LEVEL, WITH MEDICAL COVERAGE. THIS IS ALSO PAID BY TAXPAYER'S MONEY. THIS CAN BE ANY AGE, AND THERE ARE ALSO PEOPLE THAT ARE OVER 65 THAT HAVE MEDICARE AND MEDICAID.
MEDICARE ONLY COVERS SO MUCH OF YOUR BASIC HEALTH SERVICES.
MEDICAID USUALLY COVERS ALL OR MOST OF YOUR BASIC HEALTH SERVICES.

medical and medicaid ar both government programs for poor people. medical is specificaly for those who are under age 18 or over 65 if you are poor and between 18 and 65 then you still qualify for government help but you will get medicaid instead. the two programs are almost identical.
