$500 dollar fine. if u get proof of insurance by the time u go to court (meaning u did not have insurance on the day u were stopped but later obtained it), this should slice the fine down to $200 or so. these documents r easily forgeable. plus, if u purchase an insurance plan & pay the initial months fee, they give u documentation that says u have insurance for 6 months. even when ur policy is canceled for not paying, u can use this proof when an officer pulls u over. all they do is glance at ur proof & verify the date range of coverage & hand it back to u & continue the process for the reason they stoped u. |

Depends on the type of insurance you are talking about:
Auto: Penalties vary by state. Expect a fine, and if they feel like throwing the book at you, they might suspend your license. They also might impound your car until you have insurance. Again, this varies by state.
Homeowners: Your mortgage company will buy overpriced insurance for you and add the premium to your mortgage payment. If you don't have a mortgage, then there is no penalty.
Flood/Hurricane: Same as homeowners, except that the mortgage company will only require you to have it if you are in a high risk area. If you are in a low risk area, no consequences.
Life and disability: No consequences, except screwing your family if you die or are disabled.
Renters: No consequences.
Workers Comp or business insurance: I have no clue what happens to an employer if they don't buy this.

it can be tough. the license can be suspended. the car can be impounded by DMV.
you can get a citiation and you can be charged a fee / fine in court . can go up to 1K .
can you imagine that health care insurance may be mandated now ? i'd assume we will get penalities if we do not keep our coverage effective ? |

I am assuming you mean car insurance?
I was driving last year, got pulled over for an expired license plate sticker...
recieved a 80.oo fine for the sticker and the judge fined me $500.00 for not having insurance at the time of the ticket...
I did get insurance (before court) and prove that when i went to court..
really, the it matters what kind of mood your Judge is in..
I explained that i didn't have the money so how is charging me 500.00 gonna make me afford insurance?
I recieved absolutely no sympathy.
good luck |

A ticket....If you do not have insurance you will get a ticket. depending on where you stay, that will determine how much it will be. Mine was $190, but I had insurance, I just didn't have it with me at the time, but when I went to court they dismissed it because I showed proof of insurance. |

I am not sure of general procedure but my uncle was caught last year. I assume you mean car insurance by the way. Anyway he got his license suspended and his car taken away. |

You get a citation and have 10 days to show a judge proof of insurance. Normally, depending on the judge, this will dismiss your ticket. Now it also depends on what state you're in, some have tougher laws. |

Health insurance? Ending up with a huge bill. House insurance? Having it burn down, and not getting any $$ for repairs. Life insurance? Your wife having to file bankruptcy and lose the house. Car insurance? Your car can get impounded, and you can have your license suspended. |
