One way to find the lowest health insurance for a 47 year old woman in NYC is to use the yellow pages and call an insurance agent in the Health Insurance section of the yellow pages and ask for a quote.
Or, call your friends and co-workers or relatives and ask what company they use and ask for their insurance agent's phone number, so you can ask for a quote for health insurance.
Or, you could request free, no obligation health insurance quotes online through InsureMe. They have been online for several years, providing free quotes for health insurance to Americans.
You just fill out a form and they give you up to five free quotes for health insurance from top-rated insurance companies, with no obligation. If you want, an insurance agent will contact you to answer any questions about the health insurance plans.
To request your free health insurance quotes visit http://www.insureme.com/landing.aspx?Refby=613598&Type=health
I hope that helps! Best of luck to you. |

I personally don't live in NYC, but I would shop around. It's not necessarily the cheapest health insurance, it's all about the coverage you need. Like what medications you are on, what health problems you have, if you wear glasses, dental, etc... I would bias it on your needs not what is the cheapest. The reason why I say this is because you could be paying more in the long run if something happens to you. As an older person you don't want to have large medical bills either. I hope you find something that works for you. |

20.000 sounds about right but the cost of health insurance is so high, only few can afford. And good luck. |

You need a trusted adviser to help you through the process so that you understand what you are purchasing. Some may suggest going on line to get a quote but there is so much more to this decision than price.
The first thing you need to determine is how much you will participate in sharing the cost of your health care. This will determine the cost of your health insurance plan.
If you choose a plan that covers everything i.e. doctors office visits, prescription drugs, preventative health benefits, maternity coverage, low deductibles and low copays your monthly premiums will be significant.
On the other hand if you are healthy and rarely use the health care system you can consider a plan that covers the major health catastrophe, your premiums will be relatively low. You can use the premium savings to pay for the occasional doctor visit and still come out ahead.
Check with the agent that writes your home or auto insurance he/she can provide you a health insurance proposal that takes into account both your budget and health situation. If they don't handle health insurance they could refer you to a trusted colleague.
If you want to use the Internet use it to educate yourself but use an agent to purchase the coverage. |

The cost of your policy is not so much dependent on who is the carrier (although Blue Cross is the most expensive), but the decisions you make on how to use your insurance, and how you communicate those decisions.
Prior medical history & perceived prescription use are two key factors that affect your quote.
My site can help you navigate the application process. Please see below. Take Care! |
