You'll need garage keepers liability form to cover your drivers while they've got other people's vehicles in their care, custody & control.
It's a really expensive policy. Make sure all your drivers have spotless records, and are over 25.
Your local, independent agency can get you quotes on it. Expect it to be through the Excess Market, as a new venture none of the "standard" insurance companies will likely take you on. Actually, even if you had experience, carriers HATE this kind of policy, as you get tons of claims, even ones that AREN'T your fault, so you'll likely end up in your state facility auto pool.
You'll also need general liability and workers compensation. Bonding only covers for theft by employees - and NOT auto theft. It would be more effecient to get an employee theft endorsement on your package policy. |

For domestic services you should be bonded. This will cover loss or damages that may occur. For transportation services requirements become a bit more expansive. Most insurance companies will help in getting things in order. Shop around. |

You definitely should be bonded. Are you also offering employees health insurance. If not take a look at these websites for additional information that you can pass on to your employees. Only healthy employees make money.

Speaking as an insurance agent this is one of the hardest classes to write...staffing...mainly because of all the different kinds of exposures you have and could grow into and all the different types of businesses / residences your people walk into.
Speak with a quality local independent agent, if you can get a referrel to an agent from someone else in a similar kind of business, do it.
I'll just add to the other responses by saying that work comp is going to be really expensive. You'll probably have to put it with the state pool to start off with and might have to stay there for up to three years until you get a viable claims record / experience.
Your insurance as a whole is going to be expensive, get a quote well prior to opening your doors so you know what costs you have to build into the cost to hire your people, insurance premium will add significantly to that.
Good Luck. |
