~~~Every insurance is different according to your state. Costco has insurance available in 5 states and it's is excellent insurance. If you aren't one of those states I would go through www.einsurance.com They can give you quotes and use reliable companies.
Co-insurance is the part of the charge that the patient has to pay. My husband has a $40.00 copay for doctor's visits and also sometimes has to pay some towards his deductible. This would all be considered co-insurance as it comes out of the patients pocket.~~~ |
It is possible to find cheaper insurance than an employer!!! I know because I have done it with a company my wife and I were employed at. If everyone is sick in your company and you are not then it will be easy. Coinsurance is just the part you pay, the insurance company pays the rest.
When researching health insurance you might want to try and bookmark this site for research information, news, articles, insurance quotes, companies, links and more. It should have the resources to help you with your question.
Do your research and get quotes.
There is no one best company and with health insurance you get what you pay for.
When you shop for a new car you have a choice between the basic low end model with no options, a fully loaded luxury car, or something in between. Health insurance is the same. If you shop for the cheapest you'll get the basic low end model which may or may not have the benefits and coverage you are looking for. Visit a local agent that works with all the major companies in your area. The agent can find the best plan for your situation and budget and can explain what you get and, more importantly, what you won't get with the plan. There is no extra charge using an agent.
Do not try to do this over the internet. It'll take you several days to intelligently compare all the plans available. Also, if you have any pre-existing conditions that might add a rider to the policy, cause you to be declined, or if you are out of the height and weight guidelines you won't know until you've applied and gone through the underwriting process. |
It depends on where you live. People mistaken think that group insurance is cheaper, but individual coverage is actually cheaper for the same coverage.
Can't give you any companies because we don't know where you live. Also, it depends on your age. Find a broker (like us) that does business in your state because there is no 'best' and there is no 'cheapest' in general terms.
I just insured a whole family of 5 with maternity benefits for less than $300 a month, but if you don't live where they live and you aren't their age then you may not have that plan available to you.
You can check our site to see if we're licensed where you are...click on the pickle at http://www.InsurancePickle.com |
You're not going to find it cheaper, than through the employer. With health insurance, you really do get what you pay for, and any massive differences in price, are due to limits of coverage, high deductibles, or scams.
If you're 25 and perfectly healthy, a low/no deductible plan with maternity benefits is going to cost just you around $500 a month.
Coinsurance, is the percentage of each claim that you pay - the standard, like for hospitalization, is 80/20 - they pay 80%, you pay 20%.
**If you want an insurance policy with maternity, for a family of five, be prepared to have a $5,000 to $10,000 deductible - the amount you have to pay, before the insurance will pay anything.**
**Ooops. I just checked pickle's website out, that max family deductible is actually $15,000.** |
