Usually it's just a matter of sitting down with an agent that provides business insurance. But shop around because some companies provide discounts good policies and practices as well as for no claims. You might even be better off talking with an insurance broker who can offer you options from a variety of companies rather than an agent from a specific company.
Also, if your industry has any kind of trade association you might check to see if they can recommend a company that specializes in any special needs of your industry. |

OK, "umbrella" doesn't mean what I think you think it means. It's a specific policy type, you get in ADDITION to other policies.
You need to sit down with a local, independent agent to get quotes and go through the process. |

An umbrella policy only covers liability. You will need commercial liability coverage and possibly errors and omissions coverage as well as physical damages coverage for your equipment, etc. In other words, there is no one policy, that I'm aware of, that covers all of the different kinds of loss you might be susceptible to. I suggest you contact an insurance broker who can identify what you need and find the companies to provide the right coverages at the right price. |

depends on what kind of business you have. Call around to local agents and brokers in your area and explain what you are looking for. All business's need "general liability" or GL coverage, This covers you for when you are negligent in causing bodily injury, personal injury, property damage and/or the product you manufacture causes such damages.
Give yourself a solid 2 weeks or longer to get a quote (depending on your type of business).
Meet with the broker or agent and make sure you are comfortable with them or better yet try to get a referral |
