One way would be to set yourself up with a General Agent. I use Bisys for this. Go to www.bisysinsurance.com for more info.

It takes training, persistence, good use of all resources and a license for the state(s) that you will be conducting business in. There are also health benefits brokers that market plans not requiring a license and give you the same benefits (lifetime residual commissions) without the risk of interviewing, formal schooling, etc. You can find information about this type of representative at www.BenefitsBroker.info

Are you sure you know what you're asking for? =) No I'm just kidding really. I love what I do. What is required depends on the state you reside in or the state(s) you wish to practice in.

In California for example, there is a mandatory class of 52 hours for new producers who have never been licensed, and then you must pass a state sponsored exam and fingerprints with background check. While it sounds complicated it can be accomplished fairly quickly and with little total cost. In fact, it's probably the least expensive way to get started in something that has the potential to pay on a scale equivalent to doctors and lawyers over time.
