Go to a local insurance agency - http://www.findlocalinsurance.com
Ask for a quote and then afterwards ask the agent
for a copy of the MVR.
If you ask your current agent they will only have
info from the last time your MVR was run. This could be
several years old.

Your local police department or county clerks office should be able to give you a copy of your local records. However, if you had a license in a different city or state it may be necessary to contact their police departments to get records from those areas.

DMV has copies of your Driving Abstract. It will list any tickets or violations you have had for the past years (depending on state can be anywhere from 5-7 years, sometimes a little longer). They aren't that expensive (in NY, they are $15).
