When a man is executed by the state, is his family able to collect on a life insurance policy on him?
It should still pay unless one or more of the following are true:
1) He lied on the application and the policy is less than 2 years old
2) His policy has an exclusion for dying while participating in a crime or as punishment for committing the crime.

If the policy was already "in force" before the charges... or the 2 year rule has expired then they will pay out....
If you take out a policy NOW - you will have to "stretch the truth" to get the policy - so it's likely to not pay out...
If the policy is around for 2 years or more before he's executed, YES - they'll pay out...
Alot of y'all are assuming it's an "accidental death" policy - and of course, they only pay if you die accidentally.. but I'm assuming you have or are thinking of getting a "real" life insurance policy
