MAYBE. It depends on what state he's in, and which coverage he's trying to collect in.
MANY MANY states will pay the medical payments or personal injury protection limit to someone who dies in their car, regardless of cause of death. Some states also have an "accidental death" benefit, which will pay out if someone dies in their car.
LIABILITY, though would not apply - as it's a third party coverage, not first party.
So, ask your agent if it would apply in your state, with your coverage limits. |

If he has physical damage coverage on his car, and the car was damaged, it will pay for that. What coverage are you asking if he can collect on? Medical payments? |

Can he have his car fixed - yes if he had coverage for it.
Will damage to other peoples property be covered? Depends. If it was a known health condition the answer would be yes. If he was healthy and had not prior heart problems the claim would likely denied to the third party as the deceased was not at fault. In other words he was not negligent, he could not have foreseen the heart attack. |

Depends on the coverage carried on the policy as well as the terms of the policy. It also depends on the circumstances surrounding the heartattack. |

It is very doubtfull. Although it would depend on the circumstances. Was he operating the vehicle at the time of his death and did his death cause an accident? If so, his family members may be able to get the vehicle repaired or replaced if there was collision coverage on the vehicle. There is usually no coverage for the life of the owner of the vehicle if the accident is not caused by another driver. If the accident were caused by another driver and the man who died had Unisured/Underinsured Motorist coverage then that coverage may pay something to the surviving family members. These are the only way auto insurance would be likely to pay out.

It might also help you to know that the best way to insure someones life is to buy life insurance. In this way one can be sure surviving family members are taken care of. |

yes,(depending on policy cover) if he was driving at the time of death and caused damage to the vehicle, his relatives can claim for the damge to the vehilce, or the total loss value. This is called consequential loss. But also any other vehicle involved will also be repaired /written off under his policy. |
