Yes, you can - but depending on your state laws, you could be charged a cancellation fee, and will likely be charged a "short rate penalty". So yes, but it will cost you. |

You can cancel the insurance as long as you have another policy ready and paid for when you cancel. What you have to worry about is to make sure that you don't have a gap of time between policies. Example you shouldn't not cancel a policy today if your next policy does not begin until Thursday because you will be without insurance for 2 days. |

Sure, its your responsibility to drive according to the law and protect your investment. I wouldn't advise it though because you will pay dearly in the end. Because remember you don't have to hit somebody, somebody can hit you! |

Yes. And you're entitled to a refund for the balance of the unused policy. (At least this is how it works in CA and NY... it's possible that the laws are different in other states)
You should check with your agent before you buy a policy to confirm. |

As the rest of the people giving you an answer, the answer is yes. It depends how much money you gave as a down payment to figure out if you will be charge once you cancel the policy or if you will be receiving a refund. One thing that I want to bring to your attention is the fact that most insurance companies (all of the ones I know) will give you an additional discounts for not having any gaps in your coverage, which can be hundreds of dollars. It really does pay having your policy active at all times. |

Yes..but beware some states have electronic notification to the state when you cancel your insurance....and the DMV will send a letter of suspension for your vehicle registration. |
