He has to hire a lawyer. Depending on how solid his case is, maybe the lawyer would take it on a contingency, maybe not - he might have to pay the lawyer $25,000 retainer up front, if the lawyer thinks he doesn't have much of a case.
Honestly, if the ONLY reason he thinks he was discriminated against, was because he didn't get the job - that's not much of a case.
How much he can get, is going to depend on how much the job was worth, and how eggregious the discrimination was. IF he can prove it.
I've seen situtations where there were three guys up for a job, and all of them said, if you don't hire me, I'll know it's because you discriminated against me because of (age, religion, race, disability). Although the truth is, you can only hire ONE.
Likely, he wasn't discriminated against. Either he can't physically do the job, or someone with more experience was hired. |
