Most insurance companies will use the ISO (Insurance Service Office) policy forms which are standardized across the industry. There are several different policy forms available for the different types of properties to insure. Each of the policy forms have the same general terms and conditions, it's just that each form insures different property and the perils it will cover.

There are a number of other forms that are offered, and the HO-3 does differ in the sense of the property covered and what losses the policy insures against. The following website should help you with some information, but you can also search for HO-4 (Renters) and HO-6 (Condo-owners) forms which are the other common forms.
