Walmart does a pretty good job and are not very expensive. I know of a company that for $11.95 a month you get dental that saves you up to 80% and it gives your Free Vision, Free Prescription and Free Chiropractic. It's not insurance but the savings are great. My husband and I use them since we don't have any insurance.

Double-check that you will be able to get your contacts wherever you want. Some places will only allow you to get contacts from them, they will not release your prescription to somewhere like 1800Contacts. I got a cheap eye exam and then had to get another one to order contacts.
