Like others have said, you can get a quote online with many insurance companies. Since you said "local insurance companies" I'm asuming you have a couple in mind. Call the agent's office and tell them you need a quote. You'll need to have a copy of your current policy available to make sure your getting the same coverages, deductibles, and liability limits. Since the insurance industry has gotten so competitive, I don't know of any company that still charges for a quote.

Newsflash - NO ONE charges for a quote. No one. ANYONE will give you a free quote.
Best thing to do is call a local, independent agent - or three - and ask them for a bunch of quotes.

Just call some of the local agencies from the phone book, most companies can give you a quote over the phone in less then 15 mins and they are always free!!!

most of the major companies can be found online and you can put in your info and get a quote or be put in touch with a local agent. I'm an agent with Farmers in AZ.
