you have to get it from the county health dept. in whatever county you were born in; as far as getting it online, it depends on how high tech that county might be |

"Vital Statistics" are handled differently in different states. In some areas you can contact the municipal or county office in the town or county where you were born. In other places you need contact the state Office of Vital Statistics. I would check out the States Website in the state where you where born, they will probably have the information you need.
Identity theft concerns its not as easy to get a true copy of a Birth Certificate as it used to be so I doubt you will be able to order one off the internet like you where ordering a pair of shoes! |

There should be an office building in the town where you were born, You need to go there or call there, fill out forms and then pay for it. You should go to the counties office or you can probably call around see where to go and get it. |

you need to get a birth certificate from the town in which you were born. some city halls have online ordering. Most you have to print a form and mail it with a check. If you are still near that town you can just go in to the town clerks office and take care of it all at once. You don't just order it from a clearing house type place. |

IF your state allows on line records, you have to pay for it when you order with a credit card (sometimes checking acct too).
Else, call the county and find out what ways they allow. Some do by fax, some by phone and some by mail.
No matter what they will NOT do it COD.
