Any agent who's licensed to sell insurance in your state CAN sell you flood insurance. A lot don't want to, because it's a hassle and you don't make much money off of it. The best place for you to go, is the agent that writes your homeowners policy.
Just for the record, rates and coverages are set by FEMA's National Flood Insurance Plan, and backed by them, too. So even if your insurance policy says "Farmers" it's through the NFIP, and subject to all their rules & regulations. And the rules & regs can't be bent or waived, like you can sometimes do with a homeowners policy - because it's a government program. |

You can call pretty much any insurance agent that sells homeowners. They can get you the policy (or just a quote even) through NFIP. Homeowner's insurance and flood insurance are two totally separate things. Homeowner's will cover if a tree falls on your house and the rain pours in, but they will not cover rising water, such as too much rain and it comes in under your front door.

My understanding you don't it comes with your home owners policy but the ins. company doesn't cover it the government does. That's my understanding my husband knows the scoop though. |
