Which company has the best health insurance coverage for the lowest price?

There is no one company that has the best coverage for the lowest price. The premium will vary by zip code and the best plan in one zip code won't be the best plan in the neighboring zip code. The premium will also vary by age so the best plan for a 23 year old won't be the best plan for his father. The premium will also vary between companies depending upon gender, height & weight, and health conditions.

You'll want to visit a local independent agent that works with all the major companies. This person knows the market in your area and can find the best plan for your situation. The plans and premiums are exactly the same whether you use an agent or not.

Be very wary of medical discount cards. They are not regulated by the Department of Insurance nor do the people that sell them need to be licensed. This means you have little recourse when you have problems with the plan. If you are tempted by the low price and claims of “save up to 80%” be aware that very few doctors actually take these cards. It does you little good if you have to drive 4 hours to find a doctor that will accept the card. Montana couldn’t find any doctors in the whole state that actually took the card and only one dentist who was on probation for unlawful activities so they banned the sale of the card and fined the company. See this link http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/west/2006/11/22/74554.htm for more information. Many other states are starting to ban these cards as well.

Before signing up with any discount plan get a list of doctors. If they won’t give you a list consider it to be a scam. Call the doctors on the list to make sure they’re still taking the card (many don’t even know that they’re listed as a provider) and that they’re accepting new patients.

you need to balance "Premium Paid" and "Co-Pay"

if you choose the cheapest premium the co-pay will be higher. Co Pay is the amount you need to fork out to cover the hospital bill.

The higher the premium the lower the co pay.

If you got a fat bank account and physically healthy you can afford to choose a cheaper policy but again you need to choose the policy that suit you most.

No one will be able to answer you here as different state will offer different policy.

As an agent, I decided a while ago that most consumers get very confused about the different aspects of insurance and i've answered a lot of the questions I get asked all the time at www.hsaoftexasinfo.com . No one can decide what is the best policy to take out except you. Each persons situation varys. You need to determine what it is you want your policy to accomplish then find an agent that will outline your options based on your circumstances. Do some research on what the terminology is regarding health insurance and you've now become an educated consumer based on YOUR needs. Just my 2 cents based on what I've experienced in the past with my clients.

This is an important question that seems to be asked alot. How much are you willing to spend to protect yourself and your family in case of an emergency? Our circumstances may vary greatly from one to another and perhaps we can only manage certain monthly payments.

I actually found a blog with a very interesting article on the subject it's called "The value of 'cheap' health insurance". I thought it made some good points.

Heres the link to the article, take a look: http://www.finance-your-life.com/?p=26

Happy Saturday

There isn't one best. If you're 30 and healthy, for an HMO type plan you're GOING to pay about $250 a month. That's just the going rate. If you want to take on a $5,000 deductible, you can cut it in half. That's JUST how much it costs.

Not all companies write in all states. Something covered in one state, might not be covered in another, with the same company.

You need to get some quotes with a local, independent agent, to compare coverages, deductibles, copays, and premiums.

In my opinion, Blue Cross Blue Shield has the most competitively priced health plans in the country. Most plans cover all preventive care such as physicals, immunizations, office visits, prescriptions, and urgent care without having to meet the annual deductible first.
Look up the local Blue Cross plan for your state. The pricing should be on their website, and the ability to apply online. I think you will be very surprised at how affordable the plans are.
