There is no one best company. Companies plans and premiums also vary by state.
Almost all the major health insurance companies are like automobile manufacturers. They both offer a variety of product, from the basic low end model all the way up to the model that's fully loaded with all the options. Of course, the plan with the best coverage will also have a higher premium and may not fall into your definition of affordable.
The best way to find the plan that's best for your situation and budget is to visit a local agent that works with all the major companies. There is no extra charge using an agent. |

Not all companies write in all states, and each company will have a different plan. Worse, there isn't much rate difference - it pretty much costs what it costs, and you really do get what you pay for.
You need to talk to a local, independent agent, to find out which plans in your area have lots of providers, and are most competitive price wise. Start with the guy that does your house/car insurance. If he can't do it, ask him for the name of a buddy who can. |

Depends..depends on what you need and what you define the affordability.
If you are young, the chances are you won't get sick that much. You might need a lower premium plan which would take care of you when you get hospitalized, but might have to pay little higher co-pay when you see a doctor.
The best way is to see an decent&honest insurance agent. Get a recommandation from people you know.
Do not go to internet and compare the chart and pick the cheapest one. Because it does not explain to you enough to see if it is suitable for you case by case. |
