Homicide pays, as long as the beneficiary isn't the killer.
Suicide clause usually only lasts a few years.
Life insurance won't pay out if the policy isn't active. If the person takes out one of those "no exam" policies, they usually have to have it in place, keep it for at least two years, before it will pay out (ie, survive long enough).
IF the policy is less than two years old, and there is a lie or ommission on the application, the policy doesn't pay - regardless of the age of the insured person. |

Most policies you die they pay. There are only a few exclusions. Suicide is usually only for the first 2 years of a policy. If you die while committing a crime is (Homicide, Bank Robbery etc. are really the only exclusions from a standard policy. If you have a modified life policy there may be other exclusions,) |

There are several reasons a life insurance policy may not pay out. These should be stated clearly in the Exclusions section of the policy and you can ask the specific insurance company or agent about the exclusions before purchasing your policy.
Some exclusions include:
1. Death while committing a crime.
2. Death as a result of war.
3. Suicide (usually within the first two years of owning the policy, one year in some states).
4. Misrepresenting or intentionally mistating information on the application when applying for coverage. This allows the insurance company to Contest the claim if death occurs within the first two years of owning the policy.
There may be other exclusions in your policy.
If you have stopped paying your policy premiums, your life insurance policy may lapse and may not pay out.
