look through all her statements, bank statements and documents.We have insurance through hubby's work, on car and house payments and separate life insurance that is drawn from our bank ..you will need the death certificate to present to each company.She should have some record of who she has insurance with in her house, with a lawyer or in a Lock Box at her bank.If she was working be sure to check with them as most companies carry some sort of life insurance on their medical plan.I am so sorry for your loss. |

Do you know what company the policy was with?
Do you have any documentation about the policy?
Does she have a lock box in her home, or other important paper file?
Unfortunately, there is no one single number to call to report a death to the insurance community at large.
I am sorry for your loss and can only hope that she went peacefully and with as little pain as possible. |

You have to start with the insurance company's name. If you don't have that look through old checks and bills to see where she was paying. Then contact the insurance company and let them know that your mother had a policy with them and ask them to help you in filing a claim. |

Contact the insurance company. If you give them information about yourself and such and if you are the beneficiary then you should be able to get information from them. Sorry for your loss. |

IF you're asking, is there a database or does some agency track it, the answer is no.
There's no database. No agency tracks it.
You should go through her cancelled checks for the past year - if she HAD life insurance, she would have to pay it, at least once a year, and you can find the company name in her cancelled checks.
You don't need the actual policy, only the company name.
You can also call the HR department of her employer, if she was employed at the time of death, she might have life insurance through her employer. |
