Someone is wrong. Someone has no idea what he's talking about.
He, whoever he is, that hit one car and pushed them into a parked car, has to pay for ALL DAMAGES. Not just the deductible. Cost to fix both cars, and a rental car for each car owner, while their car is in the shop. |

Each state is different in how fault is assessed, but he is more than likely at fault for most of the second car. Had he not been at fault for the first car, there would be no damage to the second car. |

His liability insurance will pay for the damage to the other two cars.
If the other two cars decide to file with their own insurance companies....they will pay their own deductibles. Then their insurance companies will pursue the at fault parties liability policy for re-payment. When the at fault parties liability pays the insurance companies back.....the those insurance companies will refund the deductible back to their insureds. |

It does to me. If the first guy hadn't of hit the 2nd guy, then the parked car wouldn't have been hit. I was in a 3 car crash once and I was in the middle. The first thing the insurance asked me was if the guy who hit me from behind pushed me into the guy in front of me. He had not, we skidded on ice and that's how we crashed. So since I was responsible for hitting the person in front of me, I had to pay for his car and the front of my car. The guy behind me had to pay for the back of my car. I think this situation you're talking about stinks, but sounds right. |

Does it sound right to you that the owners of the OTHER two cars should pay if they were not at fault ? What did THEY do to deserve having to pay a deductible ?
Of course it sounds right. He who causes the damage is the one who pays. |
