I like More Than. Very simple policy, good value cover, and you get to speak to really nice people in Halifax, and it is an 0800 number.

It all depends on the type of house, where it is and the value.

Premiums vary based on some many different factors so the best advice I can give is to shop around. Cover is typically the same.

I would recommend looking at The Broker Portal's list of recommended UK Home Insurance brokers and companies. Most will allow you to pay your insurance premium montly and provide cover for your Home contents as well.

I found the cover offered by Barclay's bank both comprehensive and cost efficient, even compared to on line firms.

Depends on where you are live!

However, you may check the following site for your best quote;

http://www.insureme.com/landing.aspx?Refby=614136&Type=home

I used this for my home policy. I could chose one out of 5 different company and different agent. Talk with the real local agent for your home insurance needs.

If you've been an officer in the military then go USAA. If you haven't but qualify byhaving a parent or granparent who was an officer then you're probably best off finding a source outside of USAA -- they're a tiered-eligibility company and rates for those in the lower tiers (ie: further away from the qualifying officer) are pretty lousy. Same for their auto insurance.

Also, find an insurer that is not renewing policies in high-risk states (ie: hurricane states), like Allstate and Farmers. They're going to be able to offer better rates because they're beginning to insure lower-risk areas only.

If you are over 50 Saga are very competitive at the moment with no charge for paying monthly by Direct Debit.

It totally depends on where you live.

If you live in Florida, for example, ....nobody does. All homeowner's insurance in Florida is really crappy. And, none of those HO policies cover water or wind damage. So what good are they?

State Farm is the nation's largest home insurer and usually the least expensive.

Safeco usually gets the highest customer satisfaction rating.

Depends on where you are, what kind of home you have and what sort of cover you want. I am with Halifax and they recently gave me a really great deal, lots cheaper and better cover than my previous insurer (LloydsTSB). Use a site like http://www.moneysupermarket.com to compare the various companies. Be aware though that sometimes the cheapest premium isn't always the best, make sure they cover for all the eventualities you require.

I think they have very good home insurance plans, take a quote and see for yourself, I always refer to them for my insurance needs,
